NOTES ON ORDERING
THE BEST WAY YOU CAN RECEIVE YOUR ORDER IS AS WHOLE BEAN COFFEE! This assures you receive the freshest coffee possible since ground coffee beans will become stale very quickly due to the increased surface area that is exposed to oxygen versus whole bean coffee. It has been verified, through scientific observation and experimentation that grinding whole beans just prior to brewing your beverage produces the best tasting coffee. Grinding of your coffee order is available UPON REQUEST.
I will respond through email promptly to all Orders indicating the day of roasting for your coffee and provide an expected delivery date. I have ceased using USPS due to multiple failures and unreliable service. All shipments will be fulfilled using FedEx Ground Saver service until further notice.
All Orders outside the Washington DC Region (roughly defined as outside the DC Beltway) will be fulfilled via FedEx Super Saver Ground. I charge a pass through shipping fee that varies based on distance to shipping destination that FedEx charges me. The individual shipping fees are calculated at the time of checkout when using the website shopping cart system. Each shipment envelope can fit up to three (3) pounds of coffee. The shipping costs that I charge my customers are ACTUAL SHIPPING COSTS FedEx bills me. I can fit up to three pounds of coffee into one FedEx padded envelope shipped via Super Save Ground service, therefore, one shipment can contain from 1 to 3 pounds of coffee. A shipping charge will be added for every increment of 1 to 3 pounds of coffee ordered. For example an order of 1 to 3 pounds will be charged as one shipment and the next incremental order between 1-3 additional pounds will incur one additional shipping fee.
Contact the Roaster if you would like to discuss alternate Shipping Options. I am glad to work with any of my customers to satisfy any (reasonable) requests.
Orders inside the Washington DC Region will be delivered (with no additional charges) via courier (or other arrangements). Please email Roaster with any questions, concerns or comments about Ordering or anything else.
Thank you for allowing the 144 Roastery to be your custom coffee roaster!
